I grew up with Bobby and it is sad to see him going from my best friend as a kid to death row. I also knew the victims and just all around sad. Praying for all of them.

It is fine for you to believe it, but the fact remains that the Constitution guarantees the right to appeal a verdict. Even if courts made no mistakes, the right to appeal is there. We could amend the Constitution to take away that right but until we do so, we all have it.

405 people sit on death row in Florida alone. It’s interesting to see their conviction date and know they still sit on death row. It’s amazing to hear time after time that our prisons are over crowded. Well, a solution in my opinion start putting that needle to use and execute the death row inmates. I don’t dispute they have a right to an appeal, but it shouldn’t take years. The crimes they committed more than likely took less than a week to commit, therefore, why give them years to appeal? They didn’t consider the victim, nor their families.

Classic example: William Kelley, 1st degree murder, offense date 10/3/66, conviction date 4/24/84, date of birth 12/8/42. There are many others with date of conviction back in the early 70″s.

I wonder if all states have as many appeals as Florida. A good friend of mine was murdered there over 22 years ago – her murderer got the death sentence – and he’s still sitting there – on death row – free room and board courtesy of the tax payers.

These death sentences should be carried out swiftly…too many in prisons already…no more burdens on the taxpayer to all who refuse to be a part of decent society and commit these horrible crimes…
