According to FHP Officer who arrived at the scene "anytime" an office is called out to a wreck in the State of Florida SOMEONE has to be cited/ or at fault. (due to Florida Insurance Guidelines) Mr Jensen (whom) is actually from Texas (here on Military leave) and has NEVER been in an auto accident in his life was driving 30 mph when the accident occured. It was due to weather conditions, the truck hydroplaned while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Mr Jensen did everything he could to control the vehicle but unfortunately the accident occured. Thank GOD he had his hands on both of these men! This accident could have been way worse ...he could have hit someone head on or for that matter hit the power pole that was just inches away from the truck, which could have been a great fatality. So replacing a mailbox and facing a $166.00 fine from the FHP is the least of his problems. I can only say again how much I THANK GOD that each involved were ok. But just FYI if you have an accident in the State of Florida and the FHP is called you will be cited for something no matter what it might be. (could be just a plain accident with no one really to blame just bad weather) just saying!!! Insurance companies are such a rackett!
