I believe they should just make the fee one price counting all of the shots ect. I truly don’t want to pay a fee for a pound animal, the point of it is to find a good home, not make money off the animal. If i was wanting to buy an animal i would just go to the mall and buy one there. To prevent animal cruelty, they should send someone to the person’s house and see if its a good environment, no big deal. The price for a dog under a year should be $60 (for all shots ect.) for one over a year it should be $40 (for all shots ect.) for a cat under a year it should be $40 (for all shots ect.) for a cat over a year it should be $30 (for all shots ect.)

I ‘rescued’ a dog from a private shelter and paid $150, was lied to about behavioral problems and health problems he had. I had to take him to the Vet and have his shots done in addition to surgery on his eyes (over $200). I think the ‘pound puppies’ are a bargain!! And I applaud them on doing the low cost spay-neuter and micro-chipping.

Not when you can get them for free all day long. Many with up to date vacs.

While I understand the intent behind the fees, I’m thinking that most folks in our area are not going to pay $100 for a pound dog (under 3yrs, needs vaccines /microchip to leave facility)
