Jeremy you will always be a hero in many eyes, as well as your family. The oath and job you took is not one for most people. You are a awesome role model and continue to be, not just for us, but for all people who are dealing with tough trials within their lives. You are proof that anything and any situation is possible to overcome with a little faith, courage, strength, and determination. I pray that you and your family are continued to be blessed abundantly. God bless you for your service and your family for supporting your service to our communities.

“God” is capitalized in the upper portion of the story, which we wrote.

It was not capitalized in the Facebook statement that Jeremy Cassady released. The story is labeled “in his own words” — we ran the story word for word exactly as he wrote it.

What wonderful, heartfelt words. The Lord truly does have a plan for you. You are an inspiration to all of us. I am proud to be protected by such brave people as yourself. My prayer for you is a long and prosperous life in whatever you decide to do as you move forward. Thank you for your selfless service to our community and for keeping us safe by putting yourself in situations that so many of us fear. We, as a community, would be lost without the brave men and women of our police forces.

Thank you Jeremy and all the law enforcement officers for all that you do. You risk your lives for the safety of all of us and often times it goes unappreciated. Please know that you had the prayers of a great number of people in your time of need. Jeremy, I met you about a year ago at the “Circle of Life Event” at Pensacola Beach. I’m a retired LEO and I too was waiting a Kidney Transplant.. God truly has a plan for both of us as I got my transplant on 9/9/12. God will let us know the purpose for our lives in the future. God Bless You and your family.
