If you have wires in your trunk its not considered a bomb yet. If you have wires, a timer and a cellphone all wired together then it appears to be the beginnings of a bomb. A scale found with illegal drugs then gets presumed as drug paraphanalia. I have a digital scale in the kitchen for meat weighing and it does come handy sometimes for other (legal) tasks.
