I think it’s great that the ball park is in the area that it is. We have some sports complexes in the North End, but a park like this would be nice too – maybe even some trails to horseback ride on.

@Baseball Granny:

The Bauer road area and that part of Pensacola is growing by leaps and bounds. I know most of the kids in that area go to Escambia HS, and it’s literally miles from where most of them live. The area is spead out, but the population is thicker than you might think.

My grandson plays on a travel baseball team. When we go to other parks, most of them are really nice. I’ve often wondered why Pensacola didn’t follow suit. I’m glad we now have one……..but……why did they put it so far out in the middle of nowhere??

I am always proud to hear of new parks and recreation areas for all our children to play and exercise in. I just think that (again) it is so sad that our children here in the northend (Century specifically), to be left out. We have had our schools closed, our health department closed, and almost lost our library. These are all essential needs for our children and we pay taxes as well as the southend of the county. I realize that this is an “old hammered to death issue”, but it just makes me so sad to feel that it is an injustice to our children here. I’l get off my soap box now.

That’s nice. Build along the coast in low areas and increase Hurricane Insurance for everyone inland to offset the cost of it.

This is about inflating the value of available real estate, IMO.

Nope, it’s Florida. Since NorthEscambia.com is in Florida, if it only says “Escambia County”, then it’s Florida. Anything involving the county to our north always says “Escambia County, Ala.”.
