Not necessarily. Power companies are not always notified when someone moves out of a home. If they don’t know, they don’t turn the power off. If you’ve ever been a month late on your bill, they don’t turn your power off then either. Also, if the home had a mortgage, the owner doesn’t stand to gain much from insurance as the mortgage has to be paid off first. You don’t get a bye because it burnt down. If there was no mortgage, then there’s also the chance there was no insurance. Insurance is only mandated if there’s a mortgage.

Its a shame that this house burned down. So many kids grew up in this house. My PawPaw would be so sad that his house is gone. Pure shame.

say that they had moved out a few weeks before the fire. to me that indicates the probability that the power probably wasn’t on !

There were 15 kids raised in that old house. It was a piece of history that is now gone and cannot be replaced. For that reason i hope it was a accident!!!!!

I see some of us are cynical, and that’s not totally bad. But let’s remember, the house is old. Probably not up to code. This could be the result of old electrical wiring finally giving out. And I don’t think extra digging is necessary. The state fire marshal’s do perform diligent investigations. They hate being wrong in their investigations just as much as any other investigating service. But I understand what you folks are saying, just throwing my 2 pennies out there.

I’m agree with River Rat’s comment. I hope whoever is looking into this puts a little extra time into the investigation and covers all possible avenues of what could have been the cause of the fire. Just saying a little extra digging wouldn’t ‘t hurt.

i grew up in this house. its sad that its now gone but i can honestly say it dont surprise me. this house was very old it was just a matter of time.

this is a shame…..the families with so many memories of this house r now gone, it’s a sad time especially when they have lost so much already….so sorry to the Glenn girls and families
