What a waste of money & time. Every little storm that comes thru damages that road & Ft. Pickens road. Why? Duh. Its low. Almost sea level or below. What do they do to fix it? Nothing. Spend tons of money to do the same thing over & over again. Is there no other options for these nown wash out areas? Nothing ? Build the roads up? Build sand dunes or rock piles in front of them? Anything? Elevate the road ? Naahhh. Lets just keep doing the same thing, Nothing. Rebuild them to the tune of how much? Then to have the same thing redone. Makes sense to some, Road construction companys. How stupid are we? The roads are needed . Doing them right , A must. Whats the repair cost each time these roads are redone? A million?

why dont they just make the road out of compacted coral and replace as needed when a storm comes? you could recover most of the coral that is moved around and just re use it.;

It's funny to me that every time there is a storm, even a small one, people act shocked that the beach roads are damaged. It's a barrier island made of sand. What do they expect? Maybe the tea partiers will go out and protest our tax money being used to fix it over and over again. I won't hold my breath.
