Micah for leaving people with too much time well enough alone

I do not write in poetry,
The talent I ain’t got.
Although it wouldn’t take much time,
My rhyming isn’t hot.

I simply read what is wrote,
Consider what I’ve read,
Wonder why at one a m,
Such harsh words would be said,

And then I think of loving wife,
Placing self in way of harm,
To save the threatened gentleman,
And think he must have charm.

I wonder what was said or done,
To make one risk his life,
And point a gun at anyone.
What lead to such harsh strife?

And last of all, I think of drink,
Dimming the best man’s mind,
To bring him to the very brink,
In jail himself to find.

David for guns unfired,
Except when need have proof,
And not to settle arguments,
Nor to hole the roof

Interesting time for an unsocial visit.
Nice to have such a protective spouse.
Unwise to provoke to anger.
Drinking can get you in trouble even if you stay home.
