Now that is no longer the case as reduced demand and higher operating cost less funding, are reducing staff and closing doors. When the base closures and reductions increase, that is going to be a real hard blow to this area. I cannot see Hurlburt and Eglin closing due to the missions of those bases. The state of the art Naval Regional Medical Center is not likely to close. Perhaps things will not go so bad for this area, hopefully. So glad it isn't closing down. I really think every Community should have a school, and a postoffice. This is how you lose your idenity as a place. with a name. Every time this happens it still pops into my mind is this just another step to make Escambia County, Pensacola. I don't like the idea of a county that is fifty miles long having our little place identified. As for doing all your business on line there alot of people who do not do on line business. There are people in their 70's, 80's and 90's who donot know how to operate a computer. The Postal Service has one job and that is to serve the public. If my snail mail came once a week, I would survive somehow. Others would be more inconvenienced but if there aren’t enough of them to continue to keep it going the same way, changes are in order.

People can continue to get service at the window, so there really isn’t all that much of a change. The rural route carriers can leave in time to start their routes the same time as they currently do, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

The only real problem’s if the whole thing goes belly up.

Not to mention to fact that I already get every persons mail that doesn't even live on this road. Guess I'll be getting Jays mail now. Plus have to wait longer for whoever loves to read my magazines before I get them. And while I'm at it lets don't forget that I don't get sales papers and fliers on time so the sale is already over when I get them or that my Grandkids don't get their books like they are suppose to, or that things that in bold big print say "DO NOT BEND" and it all bent up. Whew....I've said enough, got myself all in a tizzy now. Oh great…now I can wait even longer for the mail to arrive at my house.
