Ignore the cost, we are talking human lives here. Since at least when I was a teenager (a long time ago), the definition of a tree was an object that stayed in one spot for up to 50 years before deciding to suddenly jump out in front of a driver. Since many tend to think that more traffic control devices equal fewer wrecks, I'm all for traffic lighting those trees.
