To Worried Resident– This has nothing to do with “Stand Your Ground Law”. Before ‘Stand your ground’ one must flee the perp if possible. Well, I for one am glad that I do not have to flee and wait to see if I will be attacked before I can use deadly forse.
Second, looking for a kidnapper and finding said kidnapper should result in a call to the police with a licence plate number if you are doing amature sluthing. It certainly should not involve a confrontation.
Third, since the lie was so detailed, that is probably how she had to tell the truth. She could not have kept it straight for long. I would not be so quick to give her kudos.

a 10 year old girl makes up a lie like htis and now a 10 year old breaks into a school and is in the possession of buglary tools….WOW! They may both be in prison by the time they are 15 at this rate. What is wrong with this picture????

She may have cried wolf. But it’s always better safe then sorry. She had a lot of courage to tell the truth. She could have easly let it go. But even at that age good girl for telling the truth. Not a lot of adults wouldn’t do what she has, by admitting her mistake .

I’m glad the truth came out, before anyone was arrested for it.

Stranger danger!! Now what if the police had picked up a random suspect and then the child never came forward? Some man could sit in jail for the rest of the life with little evidence based on an accusation.

I do not find it hard to believe at all, children under 12 make up stories all time, no its not right and hopefully the child will be talked to in order to know better next time but I know people also that have children that have mental probs and different disorders that sometimes lead to things being told that are untrue as well that was not meant to be harm done, it is a lie and it is a child, children lie, adults lie, there is nobody that has never lied ! And as far as the remark that says make you wonder how many people are sitting in prison because of kids lieing, I wonder everyday how many are in there from adults lieing and even worse how many are free !!!!!!!!!!!!! SO glad the child was not really almost kidnapped or killed.

Although this proved to be a false alarm, at least the school and the authorities responded quickly, and got the word out to the parents pronto. I only hope that this lie doesn’t have an effect the next time something like this happens. We can never let our guard down.

At the end of my street , live a group of young men, some black, some white, some hispanic. All holding down full time day jobs and raising family. Some drive mini-van and most work for the same company that require them to wear orange shirts, All innocent, but grouped into a child abductor stance, all by the “lies” of one 10 year old girl. I agree with “father of three boys” her parents need to get to the root of her problem before someone pays for a crime that never happened.
