Gripe, gripe, gripe.

Women outnumber men and fewer of them are convicted felons, so they can way outvote us. If you don’t like the system, you have the power to alter it. Since you are a major part of the system, I can only assume you approve. (You as a group, that is, not necessarily you as an individual.)

Well obviously they didn’t charge him with domestic violence, which is what this case is,because ppl charged in domestic violence disputes usually recieve no bond.

“Why such a low bond?”

It’s always interesting when someone has been charged several times over the years but the prosecutors decided not to prosecute. There’s usually an interesting story behind that.

Nonetheless, bond isn’t set to punish a person who has not yet been convicted. It is set to make sure they show up for trial. The judge has discretion as to how much that might take. Some are released on their own word to show up, some have to cough up millions of dollars. It all depends on how trustworthy they convince the judge they are.

No bond is to be set if the defendant is considered a danger to others if released.

So again, my old buddy has had some interesting years to be in this situation.

@softball, its not ECSO that sets the bond. Its the judges that he goes before thats sets the bond. ECSO did their job, they arrested him and housed him in jail. But what his bond is set at is out of their hands. The only thing they might have done different was give him different charges, but it is still up to a judge as to the final charges he will be charged with and bond.

It is strange that he got a bond for a domestic violence charge. I am confused on why this case is so important – meaning that there are so MANY of this type of crime happening in our city on a weekly basis.

Bonded out!?! This is whats wrong with our justice system!! Next we will read about the girlfriend and unborn child dying from another domestic violence attack! And ppl wonder why nobody has faith in our system! Way to go ESCO!
