Ok people Why are you talking about GUNS this has nothing to do with the story at hand . 2 people were injured by an ATV not a gun . Not need for the debates on guns . I hope the 2 injured are ok no matter what the circumstances are for them being out late .

My point is that most have assumed the worst without any facts. Accidents are sometimes just that accidents. Some are our fault, some are not. Maybe a dog ran infront of her, maybe she had a medical condition, maybe she was just irresponsible.

Should she have been out riding at night? No, but we don’t know why she was.

Should the 11yr old been with her? No, not at night but again we don’t know why.

Yes they could have been out joyriding and acting completly irresponsible, the adult might have completly disregarded the safety of the 11yr old but we don’t have all the facts. We really don’t have any facts just the basics.

I hate to break it to you barack reagan but you are wrong. A gun is just one of many inanimate objects that human use to kill other humans, and although there are guns that can be programmed to kill other humans without a human operator , they are primarilly used by the military and are beyond the scope of our silly little arguement. I tend to like the statement that pencils dont fail tests, stupid liberals with pencils do.

@Angie. The mere fact that an 11 year old was on the ATV is the problem. There is a placard on every ATV made that clearly states that persons under the age of 16 should not operate the ATV. “Doubleheading” if this is the case is even more dangerous.

It’s not THAT bad an assumption. Somebody got hurt, so whatever caution was used was insufficient. ATVs can’t legally be on the road at all, so driving them anywhere should be off-road and there are many hazards off-road.

Injuries sustained around 9 pm sound like a time of reduced visibility. Maybe not, but it’s reasonable to think so.

Unless the injuries were from a collision with a vehicle which had run off the road, the speed and path were such as to cause the injuries. Even then, drivers need situational awareness to recognize dangers approaching.

We don’t know many details yet and can only guess at them. it is hard to imagine something going wrong, though, if nothing were done wrong first.

Meanwhile, we’re hoping they’re okay.

Don’t compare ATV’s to guns, and if you insist on doing so, please try to come up with something original besides the tired old regurgitation that “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”.

You’re wrong, guns DO kill people, if the person wasn’t holding a GUN, then the other person would likely not be DEAD.

Wait for it: “Well if the person didn’t have a gun, they’d just use a knife”. Yeah, right. Very few people possess the viciousness to stab another person to death. It’s much more dangerous and personal.

Was there more reported on this story that I missed? We’re assuming the adult driver did something wrong. We’re assuming they were out joy riding. We’re assuming she was driving fast and or recklessly. They could have been but I didn’t read that in this article.
Just wondering.
