First of all, this happened not because she took soda, but because she does not respect authority. She think it is o.k. to disrespect her Father and Grandparents, so when her Father told her not to drink any more soda, she began talking back and using profanity. When her Father disciplined her for cussing at him, she retaliated by getting a pair of scissors and stabbing him ONCE on the arm, not several times, as the article states. This child lives a very good life and has no reason to behave the way that she does. She is loved and provided for, she is not abused or neglected. She attends church twice a week and is very smart in school. Maybe this will be a wake-up call and she will realize that she is headed down the wrong path. WE ARE PRAYING. The whole thing was about stealing PERIOD! Wether it is a soda, candy, or anything else it is wrong. It is best to stop these things with small things, than let them turn into much bigger things. I have two children and if they stole anything from anyone they will get in trouble and they know it. Therefore that is something that I don't have to worry about.
