Nothing against the Tribe at all, but this should have waited for better finantial times. Right now, this nation is broke, broke, broke. None of us would go borrow money and divide it up and give it to strangers unless the money did’nt really belong to us? Someone else said that this would bring jobs, but who’s going to work to pay off the debt this generates?

Atmore looks like a disgrace, I hope we see good change in the coming
year with all this federal money, after all AMERICA borrowed to do all these
hand ups. Every one seems to really complain about the President, but they
sure jump when federal funds come their way.

Another benefit of receiving HUD housing monies into a community is that new jobs are created. New federal dollars are supplemented with Tribal dollars, and performing project tasks causes additional money to flow into a community. Economic development goes forward and more people have access to decent housing. So, it is not only Poarch Creek that benefits, the whole community benefits directly or indirectly when the Tribe receives federal grant funds.
