"Adults would have no say over what could be said by students under the bill."

I'm sure that will end well...

Also, someone should probably explain to Mr. Van Zant the difference between causation and correlation.

The whole argument against this bill is almost comical... to side against a bill allowing students to have inspirational "speeches"?!?! not only does that sound like a first ammendment right issue, the opposers to the bill have ridiculous reason as to why it shouldn't be passed. Rep. Bullard would base his WHOLE theory of the repercussions of this bill, apparently, on ONE single instance when he was in elementary school.... 30 years ago. Also, the statement that every student would be forced to listen to the inspirational speech is not only a false statement but it also has zero relevance to infringing on anyone's right... lets say you could literally force somone to hear something, which, by the way, is a fundamental aspect of grade school, but you can't force them to adopted it... so what right exactly would you say is being threatened?? a students right to choose? or a students right to express themselves? I am sorry if it hurts anyones feelings but the sad truth is hate, and racism, will always be a unfortunate part of the school scene, but the idea of putting a stop to something that could possibly bring students closer together for a possitive reason seems counter intuitive to me.
