You know, we need to support our schools but come on! My daughters tuition for graduate classes which means just two classes this semester cost 4k. Thats right 4 thousand dollars for two classes plus books ect. There has to be a better way.
The system says you need an education but the problem is you cannot afford it so then what?
Most classes are on line now which cost the university next to nothing but the teachers time. Lets see, one teacher 26 students at 2k each - someone is making a killing.

What about the students having to pay 100% of their tuition like myself? My fee's for 2010 were somewhere around 3k... not included books and other essentials. It might be great for the state but it is killing the chances of anyone who doesn't have a substantial scholarship from being able to attend any higher educational courses... its like we are welcoming mediocrity. Also this Bright Futures program has also started making cuts; it has went from rewarding Florida students who achieve academic success with paying 100% of tuition and then went down to 75% and I hear rumors of it going down again in the near future. It's just a shame that we are trying to make it harder if not impossible for students, our future, to be successful.

We also have a low average income here... that means if you raise tuition fewer people can go to college!!! So now people who need to send their kids to college face a higher tuition, meaning many won't get to go to college, which means less education=lower paying jobs=less tax dollars for the state! Think this through!

“We have the fifth lowest tuition in the country, sometimes people lose sight of that.” Well Lord knows we don't want Florida leading the nation in anything good. So lets keep raising those tuition rates so we can put more students into the world where they'll work for 10 years to pay for their degree. Lets use those extra funds to give the illegals and the welfare recipients a raise.
