This story is dated January 14. Today, January 31, that truck is still sitting there only now the lumber is gone from the back, all windows have been broken out, mirrors beaten off, etc. I don’t know what day the truck was trashed but it was this way Sunday morning, 01/29/12. Why was it not towed away sooner, before any damage was caused. Where is law enforcement in this? Have no sheriffs traveled this very busy road in the last 2+ weeks?

I noticed the truck yesterday beaten to a wreck…all the windows and lights were beat out of it. I called the SO and told them about it but…

I agree with Cindy, but I too was raised where it was much much colder.

I don’t understand tho why he did not knock on a door. Was this that
far from a HOME, where someone could make a call for him?
This is another reason for some kind of patrol on 97 especially
in the wee hours.

Here in the mountains of Colorado,you never leave home with out the following cold weather emergency kit;sleeping bag,water,snacks,flashlight,batteriesand a red flag to tie on your antenna.I have added to that,long underwear,an MRE,a good book ,a warm hat,and a sleeping mat.You just never know when something like this might happen.And you NEVER leave your vehicle! I was stuck on Blackwater River one night with a bunch of kids in July.We near bought froze!

Thus is why it is so important for people to call in a vehicle they see on the side of the road for law enforcement to chek and make sure noone is in it or that there isn’t a medical emergency. I have always done this because of this reason. I was born and raised where it is way colder than this.

This is a good reason to always carry one of those silver thermal blankets in ones vehicle. Poor guy. I sympathize. Our family spent a very cold night in s little boat on the Esc. River years ago. It was in the low forties, but we were wearing light weight cotton clothes. I in shorts. It was terrible.
