When it didn't come on, I took it apart to find a burnt-up 6 amp switch controlling a 13 amp power connection (it had the usual 1500 W power consumption). It was sold under the Sunbeam name, but who knows what Chinese outfit actually designed and built it. If you must use a space heater, avoid the cheap little plastic ones. Perhaps I missed it, but I don't think I ever saw anything about these recalls on the news or in the newspapers. Thank you, William, for giving us this information. I don't use them much, but I found three that were on the list. Two Honeywells and a Aloha Breeze here at our house. I thought UL tested these units and deemed them safe. I dont understand how these types of issues can be overlooked at this rate.
