in regards to tinas last comments: i do see where youre coming from!…i think that i would feel very similar to you, as well…there is a citizens complaint option that you can click on at the ECSO website to register your complaints….i recently used it and got a response the very next day…hopefully, someone in the ESCO is reading these comments too…LETS HOPE!

I myself have really never had any experience as being the one in trouble.
My comment was from my own memory of sitting inside the old “SHARON’S DINER” at lunch listening to a group of officers discussing the calls for the day, laughing, joking, making fun of, repeating names, using extreme profane during the whole time(may I add with 2 small children sitting right beside me)
ohhh and don’t let me forget, that the same officers would sit there and discuss thier pleasures of various “ladies” they had contact with while on duty the past several nights/days.
May I also add that this was NOT a “one time” event, as I overheard this several times a week as I even made a comment once to them (while other customers hung thier head and shook in agreement) that it was uncalled for. The officers looked at me, laughed and continued with the conversation about a “local” lady they had made contact with, using the F word a lot leaving me to wonder if they talk the same way in thier own kitchen while eating dinner with the wife and kids…….
I know, I know, this is totally off topic….but I have to agree with “JCELLOPS” that my comment (the number) may have been exaggerated, so I will retract that amount and drop it to 75%.
Now, for the other officers who do not participate in the above behavior…..my prayers to you, you deserve lots more pay, and God Bless

too bad that they couldnt muster up a charge related to the stolen vehicle…..nonetheless, $101,000.00 bond sounds just about right….i bet hes already flipped on the driver..only a matter of time, im sure, before ECSO nab him…..fortunately, ive not had the same negative experiences with law enforcement as tina has had….(i really feel like that 90% figure is rather exaggerated)….if anyone should ever take the opportunity to attend one of the free CITIZENS LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADAMY (CLEA) classes, i can assure you, hands down, that you will see law enforcement from a VERY different perspective…the sheriffs office offers 4 classes per year to the public- each class last for about 13 weeks…..youve got to pass a background check to attend however…but, its definately worth the time to go.

Re; SANDY…. I agree with you that there are times when I also don’t agree with the way officers handle situations, but then there are times when you a have “FEW” “GOOD” team members that stand up, do the right thing, therefore representing the Sh. Department as a whole making them all look awesome.
The biggest problem is that 90% of the officers in Escambia County have the worst, nastiest, hateful disposition and then add the fact that they are vulgar and profane which leaves a very small amount of respect they receive from the public….
BUT, then you a have a few good men in uniform that stand out, respect the public, and community, talk to people like they are “people” and walaa…you have a team, ready, willing, and will go above the call of duty…..if only we had a few more.

I had just gone through the stop sign at Rainbow Ave and Sun Valley Dr when this happened. They, the suspects, must have turned the lights off when they were coming down the road, as I never saw the car. And, the sheriff’s deputies were on it like I’ve never seen before. I live on Rainbow Ave, not RAINBOW LANE as WEAR reports it, and those deputies had the streets blocked from every angle. A lot of times I dont agree with how ECSD handles things, but last night, they did a GREAT JOB, without anybody getting killed! Cudos to them! I pray they catch the second suspect, as well.
