Those who think this woman was delt a bad hand of cards and don’t think she should be judged, why aren’t you making the same comments about Dwyane “Money” Pinestraw? I mean….he must of had a terrible childhood? We just “don’t kow the full story” on him either. Wasn’t there just no help for that poor boy? No one helped him! So he just shot a toddler.

Apply the same standards to this lady as you would Mr. Pinestraw, to anybody who harms children.

Thank you so much for your comment. The phrase “man upstairs” is so irritating. My brother, who lives in an apartment complex, is a man upstairs. Creator, Saviour, Almighty, Shepherd are but some of his names. He’s not a homey, or a dawg, or the man upstairs, or the big guy.

First I’m glad an angel watched over those babies. Second I have depression and other issues and have made a few bad choices but NEVER at the expense of my kids so some need to realize she was wrong. Now with that said she can get help to one day make a change and learn from this tragic mistake and not repeat this kind of behavior. I will be praying for her and the kids and the family. Just remember those of you that make excuses for her are enabling her. She must realize how lucky everyone is and get help and move forward to a better life for herself and her babies

A mother protects. A mother does not neglect. Leaving your children without supervision is neglect and abandonment. What if someone would have taken them? Yes we all want to defend and protect our friends but sometimes they make bad choices and this was not a very wise choice. This lady needs help and I hope someone else has the children.

Yes, Amber made a series of serious errors. Those of us who know her through our online experience are absolutely sick at this chain of events and feel so helpless because most of us are so far away. While we are ALL in agreement this is a tragic situation, we are also very much aware that the past couple of years have been more traumatic for a person of her age than most, if not all, of us will know in a lifetime. We are not excusing the actions that brought her to this point. We are, however, asking those of you writing such hateful comments to trust us when we say Amber is mentally ill (bi-polar) and apparently has not been taking her medication. She was also deeply traumatized by the sudden death of her infant son, so deeply that her ex-husband obtained custody of the children (and rightfully so at the time) which only furthered her trauma and depression. She was able to regain custody and established a reasonably civil relationship with her ex and his family, enough so that they attempted a reconciliation. The baby she had in the car with her was a result of that attempt.

My point is…Amber did not receive proper care or treatment following the death of her son. She needed serious psychiatric attention to get through it all; she needed to get back on her bi-polar medication. And now we are wondering if she might not be suffering increased depression following the birth of her last (and final) child.

Please put yourselves in her shoes and keep your unkind comments to yourselves. Instead send some positive support Amber’s way. She absolutely ADORES those children. They are her life. They always come first, which is why we now recognize how sick she is and how desperately she needs help. We can only hope that the judge who hears her case understands this, too, and orders her to receive the proper IN-PATIENT treatment which will allow her to get her life back on track.

Jennifer, I know you feel for your friend…but she put children at risk. If she truly is an ‘amazing mother’, she will seek treatment for her obvious problems and make sure the children are in a safe place. At this time, they are not safe being with her.
