The question is written as if the only possible answer would be no, don't carry guns and never fire back. Of course, you can definitely get in trouble for shooting into cars even if someone in them is firing out in the air or even at you, but there's trouble and there's dead. Many consider it better to be in trouble than to be dead. You can decide for yourself which you prefer. Other aspects of security might include locked doors and raised windows and inconspicuous cars, avoiding high crime rate areas. I used to drive daily in places which were daily listed in the arrest records as residence of people charged with assorted felonies. Others avoided those areas. If you assume everybody you meet is armed, you are more likely to be polite to them and less likely to anger them in the first place. These are the good times people. As runaway inflation continues to accelerate, and municipalities and townships loose funding, cuts will take place. People will have to adjust and adapt to the socio-economic climate of the times. When people fall to poverty, they will either suffer with dignity, or go out and steal, deal, rob or whatever. Work with our sheriff, and take a look at what you can do to help yourself. Keep faith with the Lord. About a year ago, I got held-up at gunpoint in that area. I knew things were slowly graduating in violence, but no one actually shot at me or the passengers of my car at that time. They just wanted money. I know many people around there and gangs aren't the problem. It's tight knit family... showed by elders how to deal in the city. Don't be scared. Just guard yourself. The sad fact is the law is not omnipotent. There are physical limitations to an organizations span of control. I think Sheriff Morgan is attacking crime on all levels, with innovation and using time tested techniques. Even Marshall Dillion could not cover everything. I would suggest taking a little responsibility for yourself. Security is the key word on the new frontier. Things are bad all over. The sad fact is the law is not omnipotent.
