It is amazing to me how are public feels about bikes.So much for our rights,how many times in your car does some idiot slam on their breaks,cut you off or just not pay attention? When you hit them it is their fault,and us. Two years ago a friend lost his life and a judge gave the lady that killed him 166.00 ticket! This is the most he could because of state laws. A old man came earlier and he was caught with a fish that was not legal size, his ticket was 500.00.???? He was punished for trying to care for his family and my friends family is alone. WHEN IS A FISH MORE IMPORTANT THAN A LIFE? If you dont like bikes fine but please understand we have familys too!

@Thinker: You obviously are NOT much of a thinker or a reader for that matter. If you had read the article, you would have read where the truck behind the woman that he hit had to swerve to avoid hitting her when she made an abrupt stop. Therefore my brother had no where to go to avoid hitting the woman. He was cited for careless driving because he rear ended the woman. In most states if you rear end someone, you are considered to be at fault regardless of what caused the wreck. The FHP Officer and all witnesses even said he was only doing about 35mph (way under the speed limit). If its not too much to ask, please make sure you know what you are talking about before you make a comment like this again….especially in a situation like this where someone was seriously injured.

i am so glad to hear that he is going to be ok… i know it will be a long recovery. My heart sank when i saw this accident … really shook me up … hang in there Josh we are all praying for you . praying for all invvloved

@thinker – Some drivers of cars and motorcyclists are rude and inconsiderate when driving, not all, so please do not lump every motorcycle rider together… There are those of us that follow the laws of the road and some accidents are just unavoidable and other accidents caused by careless drivers…. Since I was not there I can not pass judgement on what he was doing nor would I want to see the only judgement that counts is the one that happens when I leave this world…. I pray that Josh continues to heal physically and mentally….

Very glad to hear that Josh’s family is going through a hospital vigil and looking toward his recovery rather than a wake and funeral. My spouse & I have both biked for over 30 years and we love it. We have witnessed numerous times how quickly something negative can happen to bikers. Rest & recover, Josh and all involved, because an incident like this works on you mentally as well as physically.

@Thinker. Maybe you should speak for yourself instead regarding motorcycles bringing out the dare-devil in us all. I have been riding motorcycles for 40 years or more. I have never had an accident nor have I eve gotten any kind of moving violation. I take it from the way you talk that when you strap that 2 wheeler between your legs you think that you become invincible.

So please do not stereotype all of us motorcycle riders on what you do.

HOPE THE YOUNG MAN HEALS WELL AND COMPLETLY. IT’S ALWAYS HARDEST ON THE ONE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE IN AN ACCIDENT. I SUPPOSE THIS SHOULD SERVE AS A CAUTION FOR EVERYONE. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND BECAUSE BIKES ARE SMALLER THAN VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY WATCH OUT FOR THEM…THEY CAN’T ALWAYS GET OUT OF THE WAY VERY FAST. WE SHOULD ALL PAY ATTENTION WHEN WE DRIVE. ACCIDENTS ARE NO FUN FOR ANYONE INVOLVED IN THEM.

Josh is the safest driver I have ever known. One time when we were 4 wheelin at the PIT I just about rolled my jeep. Josh really let me have it. He did it in the kindest and most gentle way possible though. To all concerned. He has plenty of mineral water and will not need any until some time next week. Hope you get well soon.

@Thinker…from the recent comments, it looks like you may need to change your sign in name from “Thinker” to “Foot In Mouther” or at least don’t profess to be a “thinker” if you jump to conclusions and generalize that “people who ride motorcyles are always over the speed limit”. I don’t like motorcyles either but I dislike even more people who think their opinions are fact and leave no room for exceptions . Based on what I have read, you owe this young man an apology post at the very least and probably his family/friends, cause it seems you poked the sleeping bear.
