Asbestos was removed from the school over 10 years ago. I am so thrilled that wonderful school will become a community center. It still holds such awesome memories of students, faculty, staff and families and the true love of learning!! Thanks for keeping the memories alive!!!!!!

Asbestos is supposed to be the reason they are going to renovate the old home they pictured over the weekend up in Century and supposed to be the reason they
are not tearing it down. Maybe as they said it is OK to renovate
asbestos structures but not to tear them down as cost is prohibitive.
I sure would hate to think if this school costs this much to renovate what it
would cost then to tear it down.

Looked to me when I was over there that they are doing the tax office up first.
Sounds about right .. I am still wondering if they are going to be able to keep
it from being vandalized, I’ll believe that when I see it. They have been
running a lot of helicopters all over up here, maybe that is why, and here
I thought it was to keep all of us safe.

I see no problem with the Sheriff asking if there had been a seat ear marked
for him, and possibly the person he asked just said, “here take mine”.
There are enough things to complain about without that.
All I want is for him to correct the crime and drugs. This is a small town
and we all know who the trouble makers are and they are the same people
who’s children are out of control.

I sure hope they take care of the asbestos problem the school has.Seems like no one wants to look into that!

We ran the announcement as early as Nov. 2, the county issued their press release on Nov. 8. The PNJ, I believe, ran it Nov. 9.

I really wanted to attend this event, but the announcement in the paper was placed too late for folks to plan ahead. Is this indicitive of the way county leadership views the north county – sure hope not.

I hope they move the sheriffs substation there. Maybe it will fix all of the problems around there.
