Your take home pay would be larger, the government would be much smaller and more efficient, Everyone, including the tax free now such as drug dealers, robbers, prostitutes, RICH people, etc., would pay taxes on what they spend. Just like everyone else. This system would also incurage saving money for retirement or childrens' education as money saved would not be taxed until spent. Including interest on that money. With the income tax system we now have, you see fraud such as here, and loop- holes that allow rich people to pay less than their share. I assure you, rich congressmen are not going to raise their own taxes. They may raise taxes, alright but loopholes allow those new taxes to tricle down to the working class instead of them.
