If the scenario you mentioned pans out (and I’d certainly like to see it go that way with a Northview and Jay win), you would have : Northview with the district championship at 3-0 and, as you mentioned, a second place 3-way between Jay, Baker and Freeport all at 1-2.

Therefore, as the story says, Jay is totally out of the district *championship* (as in first place) hunt.
