@jeeperman…..are you serious?!? You really have no clue do you?

For the record…They don’t give the officers raises as they should…take away holiday pay….longevity pay…..cost of living raises…..retirement pay….that’s how they offset Road Prison costs. They give them fancy titles that don’t come with compensation. That’s our wonderful Escambia County for ya.

It is common to use hay when working on the roads and ditches around here. It is used to help prevent erosion until the grass has time to grow. It also rots and becomes mulch to fertilize the grass. Duah people all you have to do is use your eyes when you pass by someplace where they have been working on the roads. Does everyone have blinders on? Yes, you are supposed to have your eyes on the road but you are supposed to look at the sides also. They do this in many states. As a retired truck driver I have seen it used in many states.

Would you REALLY feed roadside grass to livestock??? There is no way in heck that would ever cross the lips of my animals barring the end of the world as we know it!

The county road prison does a great job. The officers really take the time to teach the inmates skills they need to be successful in real life. Accidents are going to happen, the are “life’s learning experiences”. The barn can be rebuilt. Thank God no body was hurt.

The hay is used by the road department for erosion control at construction sites. You will see hay being used for this purpose in several areas not just in Escambia county.

The fire was caused from some sparks from a tanker truck trailer that was being welded.

So…..why is there a barn full of hay at the Escambia County Road Prison??
Do they also have livestock to feed?
Do they bale the road side grass as hay and then sell it to offset Road Prison costs?
