Power companies all around the country work to help each other in cases of disasters.

This is a good thing.

You might remember how many came down to help us after our big blows.

@ power bill still going up.......when other utilities come here to help us in our time of need, i do believe they come out o the goodness of thier hearts..they deal with thier on devstations in thier own towns and know the desperation to have things back to normal..did you notice their sleeping quarters...semi trucks with single beds in them...it is no lap of luxury....the power comp they are helping pays thier salary while they are there...not gulf power...people really need to stop finding nothing but negativity in anything everyone does....

These crews are up there out of the goodness of their hearts.Yes they get paid just like anyone else that has a job does and should. But these workers also have families that they have to pack up and leave for weeks at a time. They aren't staying in nice hotels and eating out of resturants while they are there. They work round the clock with little sleep. So consider all this before you are quick to strike an ugly comment. When those meters aren't turning familes are suffering as well.Should you be reminded of Ivan.I can remember being very blessed to see those power trucks rolling in.There were many that were from other places that came to help us as well.People helping people in need. Perhaps you should look at it as if it were you needing the help. They're have been many of these workers that have stated there was no better feeling than knowing some of these people suffering so badly after the storms are so grateful and appreciate the help they get from them.

Quit running these free ads for Gulf Power. Let them use the money their getting from us for their rate hike to pay for this "goodwill" advertising. These "advertising" stories make it sound like these crews are up there out of the goodness of their heart...it's for the goodness of their wallets. They're getting paid well to go up there to get the meters turning, cause if the meters ain't turning, the power companies ain't making no money...bottom line.
