In youth, because parents have to help fund the programs, the coaches are required to allow all players to play every game. Different story when you get to school ball. If parents are having issues in middle school with how the sports are going, it’s only going to get rougher in high school. You may want to consider having your children play at youth sports or the Y or somewhere else where you can have more input.

I commend the coaches last week for working with the other team to play the younger players in a running 7 min clock prior to the game. This allowed all the younger players to have considerable playing time. Also, young players were able to play much more in the ‘regular’ game this past week, because the score was not so tight.

To help the team and the players in goal to have team spirit, I really recommend that you don’t sit around your dinner table with your children complaining about the team, coaches and/or school. Instead, encourage the players and coaches, and pray for their safety on the field..their well being…and that they have fun being on the team.

I’ve been at all the games, and can see improvement each game. This is an effort of all the coaches and players…and I say, even though I did not attend Ernest Ward…’Go Eagles’!
