I looked at more than one foreclosed vacant house during a house shopping spree recently that were completely stripped of copper. They knocked holes in the walls, ripped out the plumbing, and dismantled the ac unit. So now the insurance companies have found another way to charge more, if you dont have copper wire then the price goes up? Later they can change it back if you dont have aluminum they can raise it up. Greed thats all.... So now lets add that in to why the housing market is in a slump. Oh nobody wants to buy a house with aluminum wiring because it costs to much to insure so now they have essentially de-valued our life time invests in our homes. If its not broke don't fix it.
