Well, let’s just hold our horses here a minute….
Some school districts in California are defunding the JROTC programs due to cutbacks in the State budget.
District’s are required by prior agreement to fund a second MSI/Mil Sci Instructor.
All programs shall have a minimum of 100 cadets at beginning of school year… if they don’t they’re placed on probationary status.
There’s a waiting list for these programs in other states so if there’s negligible support the program is pulled… Pure and simple….

Maybe if there were more encouraging parents and citizens in Atmore who cared about the kids more instead of just putting them down all the timet hey would be walking the streets less. Atmore needs something for the kids to do. Poarch has alot of things for their children to do, but the other children in Atmore are left to do whatever. They have a boy and girls club, a 4H club and they plan alot of other activities to do.Give them encouragement, parents who pay attention to their children and something to occupy their time!!!!!!!! Stop taking school programs and sports and everything else away!

While I agree with you, Coach, you are wasting your time and energy with the kids in Atmore. They don’t care about anything except walking the streets and getting into trouble. And we all know why…

THIS IS A REAL TRAGEDY TO OUR COMMUNITY. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP THESE KIDS FOCUSED. TO LOSE SUCH A PROGRAM WILL EFFECT THE SCHOOL AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. AS AN FORMER SOLDIER, I INVITE ALL VETERANS, AND CURRENT ENLISTEES TO ENCOURAGE KIDS TO GIVE THIS PROGRAM SOME THOUGHT. WE NEED TO BECOME RECRUITERS SO TO SPEAK TO TRY AND GET THESE KIDS THE DISICIPLINE AND TRAINING TO BE PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN AND TO PROTECT THE AMERICAN WAY. KIDS AS WELL, THIS IS A GOLDEN OPPURTUNITY TO GET AN EDGE AND EARN MONEY FOR COLLEGE.
