As someone highly involved with all athletics at Tate as a volunteer I can say that coaches are involved in the rec leagues. Coach Rigby's son plays football at cantonment and coach talks to the kids and at ensley. Rigby will not recruit as some other coaches do. He spends an enormous amout of time talking to kids at the middle schools in our district and holds camps at Tate's stadium teaching basics to the you players. This past season we had 20 seniors on the football team and Coach was able to obtain 10 scholarships for these guys. That's 50%. He sent out over 200 cd's on our players to colleges in order to find them a place to play. Not many people know about this but anyone who is involved with the program knows. Tate has never received the publicity that other school's get so parents don't about what is really happening at Tate to help our kids. As I stated earlier parents in this community need to get involved in their community school and make sure their kids attend the school in their district. This past season other schools had 16 starters in their program with kids in Tate's district, including the Purifoy kid at Pine Forest who attended Tate for a year and a half before being allowed to transfer out of district to Pine Forest. If people would get involved at Tate they would see we have some of the hardest working coaches anywhere around who only want to see Tate succeed. Thanks for listening and I welcome everyone to become involved and help out.

I agree about the recruiting issue but that starts as early as the Rec leagues. Tate coaches need to spend some time out at these rec leagues and get these kids excited about wanting to play for Tate. Watch thier developement, have some camps where our players interact with the kids. Parents want thier kids to go wherever the better scholarship oppurtunities are. I love me THS but it is time for some serious and positive changes there. Not slandering anyone, but they do need to start with th AD. I am TRYING TO HANG ON. Tate couldnt ask for better supporters and student body. Football neesd to be next. WE ARE LOSING KIDS left and right. Some Tate ALUMNI dont even want thier kids playing sports there and we lost Madison. Ask him why he didnt want to return to Tate. Wake up TATE, take notice. This is an awesome school but has so much more potential.

Slandering coaches and athletic directors is not a solution to Tate's problems. Constant recruiting from other schools is a big problem for Tate. District 5 probably has more athletes that any other districts and kids are constantly recruited by other schools and nothing is done about it. Our school board just looks the other way. Until parents in district 5 come together and realize that Tate can be a powerhouse in all athletics if they keep their kids in the district that they belong in it will not get better. The people of district 5 need to stick together for their own community and then we can be the powerhouse we should be. Attend the games and support the players and programs and you will see a change. Only the community and the parents can make this happen.

Good guy, good assistant coach, was in over his head from the first year. It will take years to get Tate out of the ditch he dug. We went from power house to out house in baseball. While your taking resignations, how about the AD he has let all sports at Tate go down the drain.
