If you can prove one person took part in a group crime, you really don't have to find and charge all of them before you can arrest ANY of them. Maybe any others' day is coming. Maybe they don't know who they are yet. Maybe they figure the jury would be too sympathetic to bother to charge. Of course in this case it seems as if they know all parties involved. The people have a right to assemble peaceably, but not for the purpose of committing acts of violence. In fact, gathering for the purpose of any sort of a duel would be unlawful assembly. I can well imagine a number of "friends" urging them on to attack each other. Don't know, but can imagine based on past experience of such things.
