I only met Gail on one occasion when we were presenting art and fine crafts at Pensacola Museum of Art in the nearly ninties. I had heard so much about her from so many that I made sure I had a chance to share talk with her. She was very kind and spent time to share with me some of her vast knowledge of our Peoples and their time in the SouthEast. I knew I was in the presence of a very S pecial Lady. I heard often of Her and Son Robert's efforts on behalf of the Creeks. I am blessed for having met her and will honour her name. My heart felt condolences to the Family.

I worked with Gail for over 20 years and have known her all my life. She and I traveled so much together for the Tribe. We even shared the same room most of time and enjoyed all the "goodies" we carried along to enjoy in late night snacks.
She spoke all over this country about the Creek ways; she was loved everywhere. We had all kinds of audiences when we traveled. She carried her own cultural items she and her family had made to show them when she had a presentation to do.
I can remember so many good times and things we did for fun, even got stopped by a Highway Patrolman in North Dakota just after arriving at airport and getting our rental car. Because Florida didn't issue license every year but allowed us to stick the new one over the old .This cop thought we had stolen the car and I had a false drivers license. Just before he was going to take us to the station, Gail said "Hey, I too live in Florida and mine is exactly like hers." Wtih that he wished us well and pointed us in the right direction and we drove almost 100 miles that Sunday afternoon before we met another car. Heck, we didn't care we just laughed and kept driving. That was just one trip with Gail - so many others. I will miss her so much; may God watch over her family and comfort them during these next few months in adjusting to life without Gail.

My condolences goes out to the Thrower family. Gail was a very sweet and loving person who worked for her Creek people,s family research. Helping many to find their way and she will be missed dearly. May God comfort her family and let them all feel the joy of knowing that she is in the Creator's hands and to be proud to have had the time with her.

God bless,

Glenn, I admired Gail so much. She was so smart. Nobody could tell a story like she could, add the humor and so many times she was the subject. I know how important her American Native history was to her. I never see any reference to American Natives that I not think of her. I can only imagine the gap that her her absense will make in your family's life, but what memories you must have. Like the time you camped in the Grand Caynon and dealing with the mules. I was amazed and she just took it as an everyday occurance. Love her. Will miss her.

I never had the opportunity to meet Gail, but I have heard so many wonderful things about her from others and I know she was very influential in assisting so many people with their genealogy research. She will be dearly missed by everyone! May the Lord comfort and bless each one of her family and friends.
