William – Thank you for the correction, however I guess on my part, I am not always able to get on the computer sites so I don’t read daily. I guess you would be right about the excitement from the Christmas parade, however if I remember correctly the town normally posts signs up that indicate the Christmas Parade and they don’t for the others, however, if they did, I must have missed them too. Maybe I just need to be more aware – As do others apparently.

Our armed forces personnel deserve all the support we can give! I served 21 years in the US Air Force and never had to fire a shot praise god but some of these young people are in god forsaken lands and look death in the face daily, let us pray for thier safe return home! AMEN!

Tell us how we can do a better job informing people so that we can do better. We ran a front page story on Friday and Saturday, plus it was in on “Events” page for about a week.

We gave it as much or more attention than we do the Atmore Christmas Parade because we know how bad the turnout typically is.

Both Atmore newspaper promoted it as well.

I think the difference is you don’t hear people talking about it; it does not generate the “excitement” that the Christmas parade does.

It is a shame that crowds keep getting smaller for these events, this is why I feel they are…. We never hear about when they are! People make a huge deal about the Christmas parade but never for the Memorial Day, Veterans Day ones. We ALWAYS go to these, but I never once heard about when it was this year. Makes me sad!

It’s a shame the crowd’s always small for this! But, people will stand in front of you and knock you down for a throw during the CHRISTMAS parade…): if it wasn’t for these HEROS you wouldn’t have the freedom to have a Christmas Parade! Speaking of Christmas …celebrate this while you can…the way we’re losing our freedoms! God Bless all who serve in our military and law enforcement!

The parade and ceremony were excellent, and quite touching… We salute every man and woman that have ever served, and the ones who still serve for our rights and freedom. They are all True Heroes, God Bless You All, And Thank You For All That You Do For Our Country… ♥
