I hate that something so horrible could happen in the world. All I was going to say is that I ended up going to prison myself. I had not physically hurt anyone but I was at limestone where the barlows are. I knew both. Franky was in the hobby shop with me. Shannon was in cell 5 I was in 3. I’m just now reading this for the first time. I knew it was bad (the crime) just didn’t know how bad. Wanted to let the family know that although I don’t get great vibes from Franklin barlow, Shannon Barlow seems to have turned out a pretty decent human being. Now I will let God decide what happens to him as with his parole and his everlasting home, but I wanted the family to know that if Shannon ever makes parole I truly feel that you have no safety concerns. I hope this makes you rest easy if he gets out and I’m sorry for your loss. He seemed remorseful too, not for just getting caught but for what happened.

I was looking through one of my old Perdido Elementary yearbooks and saw Angels class photo. The reason for this late post. I will never forget this horrible day. I went to school with both Angel and Shannon (The Devil). I also lived just a quarter mile down the road in Nokomis and was friends with Angel. I remember getting that gut wrenching news in class and thinking “It can’t be true”, and “I can’t believe Shannon was a part of that”! Passing by that house on the way home that afternoon just made my stomach turn. Still to this day, I can’t listen to the Garth Brooks song If Tomorrow Never Comes. It brings back memories not needed to remember. I like reminiscing on the good memories of Angel and the rest of the class running around at recess and cutting up in the hallways. Angel had a good soul and would have been a great person to leave on this earth instead of those two “Wastes of lives” that are here now. I’m glad they cant see freedom and hopefully it can stay that way. To the family left mourning, you and all who have lost lives due to selfish acts are in my prayers. I will definatly be contacting the parole board in 2016 for denial of parole. People who take lives in ways other than self defense and commit rape should be locked up and forgot about or even better, fried!

I am so relieved to see these monsters will not be getting out to reap more
on this community. I don’t care how old they were, this whole thing was
monstrous and they are monsters. I am so so sorry for this whole family,
what a horrible thing to have to remember and re-live every time these
monsters come up for parole. God bless this whole family.

Im glad the justice system works an im glad to hear so many people responded, ive been checking daily an hoping people would send emails an letters . Lots of people remember that harrioble day n perdido,an we dont want them back out on the streets. I agree prison is the place they need to be an where they will stay. I will b around n 5 years for the next hearing an i will again do my part to keep them where they are.. Glad to see people still care . Jessie , we love u an u an yur family r n our prayers.

I just noticed that Shannon Barlow was only 15 when he committed these crimes. I know it doesn’t matter but that is a terrible waste of life. How can someone so young committ such a terrible crime.

I remember when this happened.. I hope and pray that everyone who emailed and otherwise contacted the parole board to deny freedom for these criminals will be around to do it again in 2016.. This was a horrible crime and these animals do not need to be freed ever!! My prayers continue to be with the family of the victims..

Glad parole was denied again. Wrote a letter last time, didn’t realize they were having another hearing. I will keep the next hearing year marked and watch for it so I can keep writing letters. They should never be allowed out. I grew up in Atmore and was in high school when this horrific crime happened. Prison seems too good for them. My heart and prayers still go out to Jesse and the family.
