If you really want to help out the troops now, there is a website called Any Soldier.com that has the names and addresses of soldiers that need someone to write or send something extra like socks, trailmix or even chapstick. They are very lonely and love hearing words of support…Please spread the word…..Any Soldier.com

The Memorial Day ceremony was a fitting tribute to our Veterans living and deceased. The National Anthem was simply done clearly and without frills. The keynote and support speakers were all distinguished active duty military and retired Veterans. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars members cooridnated the event with Atmore City officials and other community leaders. “Amazing Grace” was beautiful played on the bagpipe. “Taps” was solemn as it rang out over the City. May God bless and keep our active military and their families and our living Veterans, and may we never forget our deceased Veterans.

as a vet i thank the people that made this possible i remember vietnam and how the service personal were treated when they came home coming from a small town like atmore makes it better

Nice. I like the simple elegant monuments. They are the ones that are timeless in their look.
