The budget cuts are just the beginning. The Federal government deficit spending cannot continue forever. If the federal deficit is reduced by two trillion, Florida would have to shoulder about 180 billion in cuts or taxes. Florida is 9% o the US population and 9% of 2 trillion is 180 billion, our fair share.

The cuts or tax increases would NOT be temporary, they will be forever. Did you really think that miracle of Ronald Reagan's economics was going to be free? I am not going to argue politics. The US is deeper in debt than most South American banana republics. I suppose we could just continue printing money, but that does not mean that the rest of the world has to accept them. Oil, copper, lead, stainless steel, cars, and all imported.

Oh yeah, the Florida state budget is about 4 billion worse than they are telling us. It is a long story, but they are keeping about 4 billion of expenses off the books.

and yet not one single word about cutting the standardized testing. not even a hint. scott and his cohorts want the feds to butt out of our state's politics (like telling the EPA to take a hike concerning water policies in our state) and yet he hasn't addressed this No Child Left Behind nonsense. no, instead he and his buddies embrace it and push through legislation that ties rewards for teachers to how well they get their students to test. just digusting.
