They already don't force children to walk as far as they could in most cases. There ARE some roads they won't drive down because they can't be sure the bus will make it because the county doesn't maintain them well enough. But that won’t change until the roads do. Anyhoo, you can see from this that the proposal would stop forcing children to walk as far from their homes to get to a stop. It wouldn’t make them walk further. The school told me that it was for this reason. Then when I asked them how come elementry and high school get picked up closer they gave me a number to call and no one ever calls back. the elementry even made a stop across the street from one of these people so what ever the school system is planning it is just some way to save a but they dont really care about childrens saftey.
