What in the world does that have to do with giving patients a copy of their records,
and a copy of what went wrong on their surgeries or hospital stays?
THIS IS ABOUT MONEY....THATS ALL.

Healthcare facilities are very concerned with patient safety. Internal reporting of "incidents" or possible physician errors are a good way for the hospital to learn what caused the human error and to possibly change or make processes better with less room for human errors. If every incident reported can be used in court, then errors will likely go ureported instead of being used as a tool to make things safer for patients. For example, if a patient falls down because they are very old or confused, or medicated, this situation could go unreported. With incident reporting, the hospital works with staff to help find ways to prevent all falls and to make all patients safer. I think most doctors and nurses are good people trying to help the sick and needy not villains trying to cover up all kinds of errors. This is just another way to look at a complicated legal issue.

REGARDING:
"The Rich never care what they do to someone else, it is always about the money"

Many rich people care deeply what they do to or for others, just as many poor couldn't care less what their actions do. I very much doubt people get into health care to get rich, still many who did probably wouldn't have done so if they had to take a vow of poverty first. Further, any costs to doctors and hospitals have to be made up by higher charges to those they serve, so we may be sticking it to ourselves if we try to punish the "rich".

Still, the idea of operating in the dark doesn't work in Operating Rooms and doesn't work well elsewhere. Even the best doctor can run into problems, even the safest procedure can end in death. Just be honest about it up front.

David for honesty, openness and
acceptance that sometimes bad things happen

That is what they are saying, just not in so many words. Doctors and hospitals
want to be able to do anything to you they want with no recourse for you in the
event they botch the job. Now there is a limit to what they will pay you, but they
just don't want to pay at all. If they botch the job, your on your own for more
in-cured medical care and surgeries and lets not forget on going care if you
are incapacitated by what ever they do to you. The Rich never care what
they do to someone else, it is always about the money.

"None of your business, don't ask questions, trust us?"

They aren't saying that but it surely looks close to that.
