This was me. 3 fractures, and some bruising as well as road rash on the back of my hands. Full face helmet and leather jacket worked as advertised. Be back to normal in a few weeks.

I think the deer season should be longer because more and more people are being hurt on the road. My nephew is a district manager of one of the major insurance companies in Atlanta, Ga and they have been giving out the whistle-type alerts to put on cars to scare the deer from the road. Our insurance premiums are going up every day because so many claims are submitted for hitting deer. It is so dangerous. Let's get behind a bill to extend the season and that will get rid of some of these. I'm so thankful to God this man was spared from losing his life.

I have lived in this area all my life. The deer have always been here. I do know however that I see more of them now than I did 20yrs. ago. I don't know if it is because the deer population has exploded or that more and more land is being developed and forcing them out more. Either way they do seem to more of a problem now than in the past. Don't know the solution but it seems that more should be done to control the population.
I hope for a speedy recovery for the man injured.

Thank the Lord he's ok! To all the people that think it's the deer's fault... What would you do if someone was tilling and planting nice open fields for you to eat? Setting out salt licks, feeding you tasty corn from timed feeders... killing off coyotes... and no more bear to speak of? The deer around here are on welfare, and they multiply like rabbits on all the free handouts.

Thank you for your prayers for my Husband, he is fine. Thank you LORD just a little banged up and a couple of weeks of healing.

Luckiily he was only doing 45mph and that he didn't collide with the deer.
Also thank you for the people that were there to help him. GOD bless you :)

He had just bought the bike and was riding it home. These things happen I guess.

This year I wrote to 3 game wardens in Alabama in support of extending deer hunting season 5 additional days. The way to change hunting laws is to be an outspoken advocate. Here is some food for thought---Development of woodlands is decreasing deer habitat, more deer per acre will cause disease and birth defects in deer herds which may eventually affect other woodland creatures and/or humans (zoonotic diseases--transmissible between animals and people), deer crashes are becoming more frequent killing and debilitating many people each year, vehicle insurance costs will escalate because of more deer/vehicle crashes, food costs are skyrocketing and deer is an excellent source of meat, new hunters need additional time for learning deer harvesting techniques and weapon control.

Even if the extended season were only for youth or disabled individuals, it would help thin deer herds a little. Write your Fish and Wildlife officials today, talk with and write to your Game Wardens, write and call your Congressional representatives. Bring attention to the problem and don't wait for someone else to do it.
