Ferry Pass got slammed, too! It's 2:30am and the city bucket trucks are in my neighborhood cutting up big oak trees that fell across the streets. Chainsaws, flashing lights, wood chippers and a lot of noise........reminds me of Hurricane Ivan!

The gas canopy at the BP station just south of WalMart on Hwy 29 was blown over and is blocking the entrance to the store.
Mine was out when I got home (Cantonment). I called Gulf Power to report the outage and instead of the usual recording saying that it has been reported, I heard one that said that they would transfer me to someone who could help me. I thought that was a little strange but when the woman answered, she asked me my address and the social security number which I thought was really strange (they normally have that from the caller ID). Then she proceeded to tell me that my power was disconnected due to nonpayment. I said, “Oh no, it is NOT!!! My bill was paid last Thursday! Why was it turned off?” She still tried to tell me it had not been paid, then finally said, “Oh, I see it in the notes right here. It was paid on the 27th. Somebody just forgot to make sure it wasn’t on the disconnect list.”
Um, excuse me? You turned my electricity off…..but I don’t owe you any money? She then said that she couldn’t tell me WHEN it would be back on because there were outages in Pensacola and Milton that had to be fixed first. I asked her why and said that it wasn’t MY screwup, it was theirs so why didn’t fixing their mistake come first? I told her that I had kids to feed and get baths, etc before going to bed and I couldn’t do that without electricity, the same electricity that never should have been disconnected so WHY did I have to wait until they were done with everything else before I could have my lights back on? She then proceeded to tell me that my neighbor who works for GP could not turn it back on for me, that it would go on a list of outages and when they got to it on the list, they would get it back on for me. I have to admit that I pitched quite a fit….and tomorrow morning, I will be on the phone with them again raising h e double hockey sticks because on top of all of that, they’re going to charge me a reconnect fee also!?! For an account that is in good standing and NOT past due, much less up for disconnect!?! Not in this lifetime!
