I live off of 168 and we had to turn off the central heat and block the doors with towels to ward off the TOXIC smell! My daughter is highly allergic to sulfur and got a nosebleed from it! Something isn’t kosher about it all……..

Hydrogen Sulfide is deadly! So is sulfur dioxide! That’s why the guys wear gas masks ect when checking the wells! The managing company has changed several times over past couple of years, sure hope they are doing proper maintenance but who knows?

on another note, What’s going on with the gas leak in century too? Who is paying for that? Residents are talking about their bills being up over $100 since last month. Some to nearly $500 For gas, water,sewer. Terribly high!

The smell was so strong that it can’t be labeled normal, it was enough to choke your breathing while driving down the road

I was told from local contractors, that plant is under new management with all of them being from texas and other states. they reside now in the mobile area. at least when they lay down at night, they are far enough to the west the smell doesn’t bother them. What is so2? remember the saying “everything is bigger in texas” maybe that is what they trying with the smell. someone tell them it is working…..

Most likely it is the plant on Sardis Church Road. Over the last 6 months the smell has grown. I live to the south of the plant. Smells like SO2 or H2S. I hear they have leaks in the sulfur plant area and yet they continue to keep running. Is this dangerous to our health and wellbeing?

Probably a better answer would come from a TV weatherman, but is has to do with the wind direction, wind speed (nearly calm and short of drifting from the north or northwest), and it “hugging” the ground.

Think about when you’ve seen smoke from a fire just hang around near the ground, drifting but not really blowing away.

That’s what they tell me, anyway.
