This is to Dick Tracy did not once accused anyone of wrong doin I simply said it made you ponder and what did you think the insurance company was thinking at this point after so many fires for the same people. You are correct I do not know the family nor do I hold any personal ill will toward them I simply wrote a tought out. Shot and simple so don’t get in tissy over it. No harm intended and no harm happened. Good to know you take up for your friends.

Jim W; If you knew the man & the company that owned this equip, you’d know your comments where un-called for. Your basically accusing these folks of wrongdoing & you are dead wrong Mr. These are honest, trustworthy people involved here. I’ve known them all my life, and have the utmost respect for their family. They are the kind of folks that would come to help you at any hour of the day or night. This equipment is insured but they’ll still lose money before all is over. Have a great day!!!!

As a matter of fact there was no damage to the Dozer, and if we were trying to collect insurance, do you think we would have put it out or called the fire department?

I work construction safety and have investigated a few of these and generally what happens is that the dozers and such are being used to juggle the burning piles to help them burn better. The air filters get full of dust and the burning embers usually lodge in them and that is usually where the fire starts. So, I agree with “Oversight”. A little maintenance of the filters a few times a day will prevent this in most cases. This doesn’t mean there weren’t some other problems but I’ll bet on the filters.

It makes one ponder. Are these insured wquipments insured and if so what is the insurance company doing at this point. Just saying. You know the insurance company will be looking for foul play and if there is any we will know soon. They don’t like paying claims for foul play and I don’t blame them it cost all of us in the form of premiums when that happens. Not saying there is foul play but does make one ponder the thought.

Very dry air mixed with brisk winds and hot engines running. Good mixture for a fire. I’m just glad no one was injured.

Thanks. That is nice to hear. Do you know how many accidents have happened there in the last couple of years? I seem to remember reading about more than one or two, and it seems there were more than that. I guess the reason I notice that name more than others, when I see it, is because when the bridges were closed over in Enon, someone told me I could detour out Tungoil Road and save miles and time. I kept looking for it off 99. I thought I’d never get to it. LOL Lately I’ve been wondering if I should use that road. It looked safe to me.

In the few years we’ve been doing North Escambia, there has not been a single accident there with injuries.
