I agree not everyone is suited to driving and some are physically unsuited to driving. However, I think most of the driving requirement is mental–the intention to pay attention. It takes a while to realize that even though you can do more than one thing at a time, if one of those things is drive, not giving driving your full attention can be expensive, messy and painful.

Additionally…don’t those handicap placards have a notation at the bottom to remove before driving because they obscure the view?

@Mary – if you pay attention, you’ll see that the great majority of accidents reported here as resulting from “loss of control” involved drivers under the age of 26. Driving requires a physical skill set, and just as not everyone is suited to playing football or bowling or shooting hoops, not everyone is suited to driving. It’s a good thing that you recognized that in yourself and voluntarily took yourself off the road.

@GirlnGreen – That’s not a sports car, and people become “grannies” through the action of their children. BTW, I’m a grandfather, drive a high-performance sports coupe, and would pit my 43 years of driving experience against your childish assumptiveness any day.

I am also glad that the driver is ok. But I also feel bad because it was a nice fence. I watched it being built, It took a long time and I know that it cost alot of money. It was a really nice job.
One day, you will all realize that 65 don’t seem so old.

I watched that man work very hard on building that wall and he did nice work a couple months back.
improved the look of the area. Dogwood park is nice other than the yard with a small pond and trash all over the yard

wonder why this woman was incapable of driving a car down a nicely paved road?
glad she is OK but she is dangerous behind a wheel. time she stoped driving

Mary, your 47 and won’t drive anymore because of your age? Are you kidding?

You must be blessed with not having to work and having plenty of younger people around to support you and run all of your errands for you.
Plenty of people 65 are still working and driving. I can’t imagine her age was even a issue. How many times do we see young people in a wreck? Wrecks happen to everyone.

WOW..great pictures….does not leave much to imagine does it…..if there were a passenger with her it would be close also….she was lucky…no doubt an angel was around somewhere…not her time to go huh….must a fell asleep you think…lost focus maybe….a deer ran out in her path…any other guesses out there…wonder what FAILED TO NEGOTIATE means ( other than the obvious )
