Even discounting the inmates, Atmore still increased slightly. While Brewton, East Brewton, Flomaton, and Escambia County as a whole decreased. Atmore is not without its problems, but neither is the rest of the area. Crime and taxes are on the rise everywhere.

REGARDING:
"2,250 of those new residents were behind bars” because Atmore annexed the prisons. The figures don’t lie, but liars figure"

Atmore can't be as bad as some act if people are willing to go to prison to get to move to Atmore.

David liking Atmore from a distance

why is everyone such debbie downers? atmore rocks. it has the feel of a small town right outside of mobile and pensacola. cool little shops too and nice nice nice business folk. yes the traffic is getting kind of crazy but if atmore plays its cards right, it will naturally thrive. to me atmore is just another little jewel waiting to be polished and shined... instead of kids wanting to move away, they will be moving back to raise their kids here. take some of those taxes and invest it in the schools somehow, your kiddos are your future atmore,. they are so worth it.

Just figuring; Almost 40% of the towns residents are not going to be able to pay their fair share of the newly enacted sales tax.

Another 20% has no income to help from their side of the world. It comes down to a precious few of some what less than 40% to carry the tax burden. Welcome to what our forefathers have given their lives to prevent from happening. The mayor and council consisting of all yes men should be ashamed of themselves. Political futures of all involved will be in jeopardy come election time.

When you take a closer look at the numbers in Atmore’s explosion in growth, you can see the manipulation within the system, “…2,250 of those new residents were behind bars” because Atmore annexed the prisons. The figures don't lie, but liars figure.

That really says something about the city doesn't it? Things may get so bad in Atmore that will charge you a tax to move. RIP Atmore!
