Who are we to judge that man? Everyone of us have made mistake, none of us know what really happen. All we know is what we heard, instead of bashing Barry we need to ask God to restore him and the young lady if anything happen like what was reported. Not defending wrong doing just, just defending human rights. We will never know the real truth about what happen because we were not their. The old saying is this, there are three side to a story, the truth, opinions and everybody else.

Barry Lett is not a bad person; he just made a terrible mistake. I have known him for years and he has been a great friend & my confidant. He has displayed poor judgment, but we are not the ones to judge, and all have made mistakes that just have not come to light. He will not have any encounters with "Bubba" because he will be covered with my prayers and others. He will emerge from this a humble and better person. Barry is a terrific person and very much!!

Wow...Fed up with Generalizing. Fed up with stereotyping. Fed up with Ignorance. Mr. Lett is the exception not the rule. Most Cops or authority figures are excellent people. We go to church, we coach football and baseball etc., we raise our families we'd give most anyone the shirt off our back. Just because there's one rotten apple doesn't mean the whole cart is spoiled.

My husband lived with a service buddy after they served their country for
years together and were the best of friends.
They got an apartment together and it lasted a year. Then his service
buddy switched jobs and became a cop.
My husband said he was dumb founded and moved out shortly thereafter.
He said when his buddy recieved his uniform, badge, gun and car he
became someone he didn't even know, and he didn't want to know and
no it didn't have anything to do with how he treated my husband. It was
how he treated EVERYONE AND THE DISREPECTFUL THINGS THAT
HE SAID IN PRIVATE ABOUT EVERYONE. SOME KIND OF GOD COMPLEX
I GUESS.
Some people can't handle getting responsibility over other human beings.
Their britches just get too big for them and they think they can do anything
they want to people and they have the whole police department to back
them up.
Abuse of power comes in many forms. Just like when a big strong 230lb. husband beats up HIS OWN 75 lb. child or his 110 lb. wife.
Where my husband works they call back at random some of the homes he
goes into every single day. Maybe thats what all these types of jobs should do.

no uniform. maybe a windbreaker or polo shirt they have to purchase themselves. Please let me correct the sentence that Mr. Lett "is a state probation officer" - should have said "was a state probation officer" Even without a uniform a probation officer has a great deal of power and control over the people he/she supervises. Of course, in the end the ultimate power is with the judge but if one cares to read a Probation Order - it will quickly become apparent just how much leeway the probation officer has. I wish Mr. Lett the best and sincerely hope that all other officers choose to serve the people of the State of Florida in honorable and fair treatment of those they supervise.
