Since you already live on the portion of Nicholson Road that is paved, we don’t need people like you keeping the rest of the rsidents from enjoying the rest of he road paved. I say those of us living on the dirt road has waited long enough so we don’t need people like you commenting.

I was under the impression that Terri has a very full and interesting life. What with the cross country hiking that gave us a delightful glimpse of scenery we would likely never view and anecdotes of the people along the way, her wonderful fudge making skills and operation of the Country Bumpkin then taking over the St Vincent dePaul Thrift Store (is she still running that?). On top of this, she raised two daughters and a son and has been a wonderful friend to a good friend of mine. I’m pretty sure she’s GOT a life, honey. You shouldn’t fault her for trying to take an active part in her community and for voicing her opinions about her life and property. Isn’t that the whole purpose of the comments section of this forum?

The county has been after to me sign “easement” of my property to them in order for them to pave it.I am the only one on the road.I don’t want it paved,mainly becasue of all the trees that will have to go,and then it will look like Brown Rd. in Mc dAvid.I have enough trouble with people dumping deer/pig carcasses,kittens and puppies as it is.At least some people don’t want to drive down a dirt road.I don’t mind driving on a dirt road.It is part of living in the country.The road is over 100 years old and I see no reason to pave it now.Of course the county told me they would quit maintaining it after awhile,but I figure as long as their clay pit is at the end of it,they will keep it maintaned.If not,that’s what tractors with blades are for.Give my land away?? No way.I have even told them just keep the graders off the road,I would call them when it needs work,but no….they keep grading away at the road,always the day before it rains too!Plus they use my road to teach newbies how to operate a grader! Geeezez!

Well, I believe that a previous poster is referring to eminent domain. However, at this point, that is not the issue. They are ASKING you to GIVE it to them. See, the idea is that they will trick you into giving it to them so they don’t have to pay for anything. Then, when you are the only hold-out, they’ll tell your neighbors that YOU are the only thing holding them up, so why don’t they talk to you about it. They’ll keep doing this and keep putting everything off ……………..because when it comes down to it, they will have to fight you in court for eminent domain and then they will have to pay for it. They don’t want to do that, so they’ll keep on trying to get you to just hand over your property for no compensation so that they will get “something for nothing”.

That is not what the county has promised. The easements and acquisitions were supposed to have been taken care of years ago. The promise was made that they would be paving it in January.

Your property taxes are gonna double. But, no more muddy vehicles. A few more years of government ……we all gonna be stoppin to finish cleaning what those so-called hunters left behind…..

Ok, so if I want part of county owned property, I have to pay for it. (assuming that’s even possible). So the county should buy my property. Seems to me there is something in the Constitution about that isn’t there…? Hmmm. As for the hunters, I like deer meat. If you’re going to kill it, finish butchering and drop it off at my place. (I can’t handle butchering it myself, too whimpy). Hate to see good meat go to waste when so many children in the county go to bed hungry every night, and wake to no breakfast when school is not in session. Waste not, want not.

BOB–THERE ARE A LOT OF ROADS THAT NEED WORK IN OUR COUNTY. THERE CAN ALSO BE OTHER COMMENTS ABOUT OTHER SUBJECTS AT THE SAME TIME. IT’S CALLED BEING ABLE TO CHEW GUM AND WALK AT THE SAME TIME.
