Public safety is one thing, being a caring human another. Too often the two get confused. Except in his case. Through all the politics and challenges, life is about the human cause. I admire a man who puts aside those petty political differences which are only here for a short time. A life worth living is shown by items such as this article honoring a man who has given to his community and not asked for honors. Rest in peace Wilbur. He was a great Dad and I miss him so much. Dad started out everyday reading his Bible. He prayed for his family, calling each of us by name, daily. He loved God so much and taught his children, grandchildren and everyone he came in contact with how much God loves us. Thank you so much for his deserving nomination and as he would say "To God Be The Glory". I am very proud to be Wilbur Hendrix’s daughter. He was a great Dad and I miss him so much. But, when all is said and done, his true legacy is that of a faithful Christian husband and father: a legacy that has clearly carried on to his children and granchildren. His family should truly be proud, and I am very glad to see him recognized for honoring what was clearly most important to him - his Lord, his family, and his community.
